R-WALL: The Smarter Solution for Basements and Retaining Walls

R-WALL is one of the few ICF systems specifically suited to basement and retaining wall
construction. By combining the retaining wall and structural wall into a single reinforced
concrete element, R-WALL saves space, reduces build time and lowers overall construction
costs. Constructed using monolithic C35 concrete, R-WALL creates a structure almost five times
stronger than traditional 7.5N blockwork while reducing cold joints and improving long-term
durability. Retaining walls can be built and poured to greater heights, making construction
faster and more efficient than many conventional methods. R-WALL can be configured with insulated concrete walls, concrete-faced walls, or a combination of both, simplifying waterproofing design and reducing basement construction complications. Its closed-cell insulation continues to perform even in wet conditions, making it ideal for below-ground applications where long-term thermal performance and moisture resistance are essential.
